For this new 7 inch series, we will be shifting our focus away from more traditional based songs into more instrumental dj tools. Inspired by beat records like Mix Your Own Stars, Faces Drums and early Chicago House records like On and On, we wanted to try and reinterpret all types of music that could potentially be used as a mixing tool for the more resolute dj. Some of the records will not have standard kicks, claps or highs. Some of the records will only be half of one tool to be completed later or by yourself. Some of the records may be edits while others may be completely new material. The idea is to help inspire the dj to take chances with their mixing, rather than only allowing songs to dictate their entire sets. It will be an ongoing experiment with many releases in the works. They will be pressed in extremely limited runs ranging from 150 to 250 copies each, and will all be hand painted and numbered. Most will be sold exclusively through Truth is Light's website, with a small handful available through close friends stores.
